What Happens to Your Body During a Fast?

body

When you are fasting, the body goes into rest mode.  It there is allowed to focus energy toward all those chemical and mechanical processes which include detoxification, rejuvenation and rebuilding. Blood and energy’s power might are refocused from the digestive systems major employ of energy.  That freed power is sent to parts of our body that need repairing or rebuilding entirely with healthy tissues and structures.  Your body knows how to clean itself when given the opportunity.   [This works more efficient  if rest/sleep/meditation and such are added to the fast.]  It is optimum healing time.

We cast off toxins in many ways, e.g., lungs, liver, skin, kidneys and colon. When these dirty laundry shots of elimination are clogged up with toxins, our bodies are forced to look for other ways to eliminate the bad stuff from our general system.  That is when we notice things like mucous, discharges, sweats, vomiting, diarrhea, etc. When the body finds no way to have elimination or isolation of toxins, blockages appear in our body’s energy flow.  Then the toxins will be stored in any tissues in our body, joints, vessels, muscles, organs, etc.

When we are fasting, our physical bodies enter a deep stage of profound body rest. You stop adding toxins. When we are eating, no matter how hard we try to avoid it, there is toxin intakes.

The fast is when autolysis and elimination process fire up. During the fast’s first days of a fasting you cleanse out loads of waste material and digestive residues into blood stream. When this happens you may notice things like cold feet or hand, slight trembling, strong breath, headache, body odour, etc. The tongue usually becomes heavily film coated, but this will be seen to decrease as the fast further cleans.

Then comes the next phase of the cleanse, we experience a diminished hunger for food.  While this cleansing proceeds, it removes diseased, dead, and dying cells.  At this time we have mucous, excess fat, hardened coating of mucous on intestinal wall, toxins in lymphs, blood, organs and tissues eliminated.

Then comes a surprising event; you will feel magical because you experience an energetic state with no feeling of hunger.
Finally if the fast goes on long enough, you will run into hunger again.  That is when the body is starting to eat good muscles and organs.  You are starting to enter starvation.  You have left fasting.  Break correctly the fast as soon as is practicable.  You are exceeding the limits of therapeutic fasting.  This is on down the line and most never get to this point.  But if you do, take note and break-fast, if this second hunger happens.

About The Author

Dr. Bill in San Antonio, TX, holds six degrees in religious studies including a Ph.D. and a Th.D. He holds several other certificates and certifications. He has been what some call a professional student. Raised mostly in rural south and south-central Texas, he is equally at ease on the ranch, in the woods, in meditation, or metaphysical pursuits. He was the author of two books now out of print and several that he has not pushed for publication. He has written numerous articles in pier review journals during his time in traditional ministry. He was invited to be on the translation committee for a modern Bible translation but declined, for philosophic differences over translation presuppositions. His studies in comparative religions led him into an in depth study of metaphysics. He has a knack for noticing overlapping principles in different systems. It occurred to him that when things keep showing up in many religions that these maybe the secret truth past down from our ancient past that are applicable to us today. As in folk lore Odin hung from the tree upside down and after nine days, came to know the secret runes. Today Dr. Bill strives to look at repeating truths in a different way. He is willing as needed to take the time to see the secrets that are ready to be opened from different directional considerations. Dr. Bill was a traditional minister for 25 years, filling pulpits two times a week and teaching many classes. Now he has centered his work on the metaphysical of spirituality. Dr. Bill looks at the metaphysical and spiritual from a new eclectic perspective. This rare insight has been a boon to him and as he works to help you can be a boon to you amazon.com/author/billhaberman
